Every painting starts with a little moment of attention to who I’m painting, the energy I notice about them, the poses that feel the most like them. Then I choose their palette. The colors I pick aren’t decorative, they’re devotional.

I've always been drawn to the way contour maps render terrain. Every hill, every crater, every detail is dimensional, studied, worthy of being defined. That's what I want for every body I paint. Not observed. Mapped. Given attention.

I’m grateful I get to paint friends, lovers, people I know deeply. Poses that are intimate without being performative, nude without being exposed. Sexy without being lewd.
